Growing
Growing mushrooms in the desert? It’s possible. Over the years, we have mastered this unique art, by overcoming challenges of high ambient temperatures, fluctuating humidity and lack of raw materials used for mushroom cultivation.
At Gulf Mushroom, we have 43 climate-controlled mushroom growing rooms in Barka with the capacity to produce more than 15,000 kgs of fresh mushrooms every day in a computer controlled and hygienic environment. We have an experienced team of mushroom growers and use Phase 3 compost from our plant in Thumrait, along with a few other high quality natural raw materials imported from Holland, to produce high quality fresh mushrooms that match with international standards. We follow the standard mushroom-growing process, which starts with sanitization of growing rooms, defrosting compost bocks, mechanized filling of compost in the growing rooms, venting and pinning process with computerized climate control inside the growing rooms followed by harvesting of fully-grown mushrooms, packing and dispatch.
